RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Organizing and mobilizationof dozens of people to pass the tuition equity bill SB 170. Collected over 800 individual endorsement forms from targeted districts in 6 weeks.
• Met with 3 state senators and 3 state representatives of whom, five gave verbalcommitmentsto vote yes on SB 170
• Published oneLetter to the Editor by a RAP Memberandanother one by an internin the Denver Post about the importance of SB 170.
• Prevented the passage of SB 146 out of committee through grassroots mobilization and organized testifying. The bill would have required law enforcement officials to impound vehicles for anyone not carrying a driver's license.
• Negotiated with the Police Department in Aurora for more cultural competency training in Aurora
• Sent member delegations to a series of meetings with Aurora City Council members to gain support for working to improve police/immigrant relations
• Posada Sin Fronteras celebration which brought more than 450 immigrants and allies together to celebrate the holidays and encourage civic involvement in immigration reform
• Ensured that a balanced view was presented during and after the Governor's Task Force on Immigration and Law Enforcement. This included one editorials in theDenver PostandAurora Sentineland inclusion of the minority opinion on'Colorado Matters.'
• Reached over 1500 people in our staterecognized, model "Know Your Rights" workshop
